Betty Adams Grissett Helps Forward InterVarsity Ministry | Ways to Give | Planned Giving

InterVarsity has meant a lot to Betty Adams Grissett throughout the years. While at George Fox University from 1948 to 1950 and then University of Oregon for nursing from 1951 to 1954, Betty became involved with an InterVarsity Chapter and Nurses Christian Fellowship as well as attended conferences and summer camps. Post college, Betty encouraged students to start an InterVarsity Chapter at Reed College in Portland where she was the staff nurse for 13 years.

BettyThis position allowed her to serve several summers as a nurse and cook and be a camper at Campus by the Sea. After Reed College, Betty worked her way around the world, carrying with her the Bible study skills, knowledge of the Bible, and confidence in studying the Bible and sharing study skills with others that she learned through her involvement with InterVarsity.

Betty has generously provided future support for InterVarsity in her estate plans, including several Charitable Gift Annuities. She shared her reason for making these planned gifts, “InterVarsity’s aim is to get students involved in Bible Study and meeting other Christians on campus. It was very helpful to me. I want other students to have the same InterVarsity avenue to do that too. It was only natural to give what I gave in my estate plans. InterVarsity was, and still is, meaningful to me and other fellow students.”
